Another Yours Is Prettier Than Ours
A beautiful park bench along a street in Silver Spring, MD. Silver Spring is essentially a metro stop (mmmmm . . . sound familiar? metro stop? train station?) and yet there was plenty of pedestrian traffic enjoying what the area had to offer. In fact the main thoroughfare was blocked off to car traffic so that walkers could wander without the awful pressure of looking both ways before entering the street (seems like that should appeal to the Berrien City residents).
Mother's Day: Part Two - The Butterflies
The Wings of Fancy Exhibit: I took hundreds of photos of butterflies on flowers, but decided I would post the ones that were a little different.
This upside-down butterfly coordinates perfectly with the flower he has chosen to sample.
This butterfly is trying to figure out if he made the team.
All the beautiful flowers and this butterfly chose the dirty, rusty window.
Of course my favorite would be an orange and black butterfly on an orange flower.
Mother's Day: Part One - The Flowers
The whole family went to Brookside Gardens to see the Wings of Fancy exhibit. Along the way to visit the butterflies, we spotted many beautiful flowers. Here is just a sampling . . .
Dupont Circle
During a walk around Dupont Circle on a windy Saturday, I spotted this pretty stairway to someone's home - colorful flowers to cheer you on your way home and a great location to inspire you to leave home!
National Cathedral
A side path on the grounds of the National Cathedral on a beautiful Friday afternoon. This particular Friday was the first day of their weekend-long annual Flower Mart, which was so much more than a flower sale - booth after booth of jewelry, clothing, garden decorations, books, and yes, flowers.

Completely Relaxed
It was a picture perfect day yesterday at the Inner Harbor in Baltimore, Maryland. This completely relaxed turtle was photographed at the National Aquarium.
