As beautiful as this swan is, I also loved how his reflection in the water looked. He was just floating along on Silver Lake, in Belmar, NJ.

At first I thought this was a yellow butterfly. But when I moved in closer to photograph him, I saw he was a moth. Ah well. I liked the way he looked with the green mesh background.

Did you know there was a beach in Bordentown? Neither did we. So we followed the signs for Bordentown Beach and came upon this pretty, rustic waterfront area where this little boy was searching for the perfect stone to throw into the creek.

Pretty self-explanatory, right? Me taking a picture of the outdoor tables and chairs at the local coffee house . . . reflected in my daughter's sunglasses!

The three weights that hang in our grandfather's clock and are now laying on the floor in the living room, because the clock had to be dismantled and moved from the foyer into the family room, so that the sanding and painting/staining of the woodwork could begin before a new floor is put down.

This wagon was sitting all by itself at the local farmer's market where I go several times a week to get the best corn on the cob anywhere. I thought this photo made a pretty "still life" with the field of zinnias in the background and then I noticed . . .
that the wheel looks like a smiling face!

The fabric of my life . . . lately! Just a few of the numerous prints that will be beautifully displayed on www.54pineapples.etsy.com this fall!

This luna moth was hanging out on the window of a store I visited today. Not sure if he was attracted by the lighted sign on the inside of the window or his reflection!

Spotted these two adorable little dogs on the way to Red Bank Saturday night. As the sticker on the back says, they were "along for the ride!"

The Princeton Junction Fire House which is being renovated and will soon become the home of the West Windsor Arts Council.

This catch phrase is on the side of a plastic souvenir cup acquired when someone in my family went to see "The Adams Family" on Broadway. While putting things away last night, I spotted it in the cabinet I refer to as "the efficient Susan." I can't think of a better way to sum up the last several weeks of my life! This is a never-ending cycle for me. I think I'm normal and that most people think and feel pretty much the same as I do . . . and then, like walking into a wall, I am presented with behavior I can't understand. If that's not enough, I am then confronted by people who don't understand why I find the aforementioned behavior odd! Or why I am upset by it! So . . . as the cup says, I would like for someone to define normal for me!

Quite literally, on the street in Crystal City, VA. Unfortunately, I was not there on a Tuesday, between 3:00 and 7:00 p.m.

Went into New York City to see the "American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity" exhibit and the musical "Billy Elliott." Afterwards there was time for a delicious cosmopolitan in the Marriott's View Lounge. This is me taking a photo of me reflected in the ceiling!

When I was a kid, we called these "jimmies." They are now called "sprinkles." Either way, they are pure sugar.

Proof on a Monday morning that I may indeed have a problem. However, I've been told that recognizing that you have a problem is the first step!

Eclectic Red Bank, New Jersey:
The historic Ludlow Hall, established in 1878.
The beautiful Navesink River.
A statue in honor of Civil War Veterans.
At the risk of being redundant, a man sitting on the street who will talk to anyone about anything.
Someone who thinks that 9/11 was an inside job. I mean really, really thinks it.
And the Count Basie theatre, which I'll be visiting in two weeks to see one of my favorite comedians . . . Dennis Miller.

My hummingbird feeder, which hangs near the Bradford Pear. The wire arc is where the hummingbird can rest while sipping the delicious, ruby red nectar from the center of the ceramic hibiscus flower.
August 5, 2010
Looking up at a copper ornament hanging from a tall tree in my backyard near the bird feeder (which is really the squirrel feeder).
August 4, 2010
Not sure about what kind of day someone has to be having to polish off an entire bottle of Dewar's in the supermarket parking lot! Although the bottle looks as though the seal hasn't been broken, this bottle was empty.

Tar art? Not sure what the substance was that was used to make this hand print, but I spotted it on a walk today, on a sidewalk in a nearby neighborhood.

The three stages of the clematis flowers on the vine that is overtaking (beautifully) our mailbox. The flower bud . . .
The lavender bloom . . .
And once the bloom fades, all that's left is the fluffy center.

A brilliant, well-thought out marketing strategy resulted in a huge cash surge for 54pineapples today. Naturally, we celebrated by sitting outside, enjoying the summer breeze and a few delicious drinks (represented by these yummy-licious concoctions).

Only two weeks after the infamous episode of wrenched back-itis, I managed to do the laundry without causing myself any bodily harm. Ah, the simple things . . .
